It is undeniable that facial hair is a problem for everyone. Admittedly, it creates a larger issue for some people than others. No matter who you are, however, you have to admit you have at least one errant hair. It is just one of the facts of life.
But if you’re like me, then plucking drives you crazy. I cannot even get a glimpse of the mirror through the tears in my eyes! But facial hair creams scare me. I tried one when I was in high school and had a long red blister over my upper lip for a week. Frankly I would have preferred a girlstache to that…
Fortunately, hair removal creams have come a long way since high school. They used to be terribly smelling and full of harsh chemicals. Now most of them smell like a delightful aromatherapy treatment. Of course, you will still have to look out for some pitfalls.
Make sure that you get good facial hair removal results by using these tips:
1. Always test first. Before you smear it on your face, try it on your wrist. If you notice burning or develop a rash then call a halt to the process. A very small glob should be enough to test with.
2. Definitely look for herbal components. You are going to have to use some chemicals to melt hair away. But herbal extracts can help your skin recover from this exposure. Facial hair removers that contain heavy moisturizers and natural ingredients tend to be easier on your skin.
3. Select something with scent. Probably most of us remember that stinky cream that you used to use to remove hair from your legs. That smell was definitely chemically based. Now you can eliminate the odor with a new fragrance. This can save you a severe allergic reaction – and a strange sneeze splatter! Select the scented stuff unless you can’t stand any type of artificial fragrance.
4. Work in sections on your face. Once you use the cream on your face, go slowly. Start with the eyebrow area. It is less sensitive than the upper lip area. If you have no trouble with your brows, then you can start on your lip or chin area.
